Others I had forgotten;

Engine 33-1965 Maxim. Mainly used for parades & funerals, in great shape! Sorry I don't have better photos, it's always inside when I'm in town.

Is it not where it can be pulled out for photos?

The old brush rig, Engine 3 a 1966 Kaiser 6-wheel, is long gone. They now use this 1986 Intl/Steeldraulics 1000/1000, former Engine 17.

Interesting and unusual rig for a metropolitan fire department.  What was the original logic in ordering these?

Not really, it's parked inside at the academy along with several reserve rigs. As for the 1986 Internationals, they were assigned to outlying rural areas with mostly horse farms. They were about as unpopular as the Ford/American LaFrances.

The department has a 1948 Seagrave, I believe there is a 2nd one that belongs to the union.

Thanks for posting that Upstate, I missed that one. $5,900 & the reserve wasn't met, not surprised. It wasn't running very well when Lexington sold it.

Yeah, old Engine 8 I think. Not sure about the years mentioned in the ebay listing though. I thought they used a '74 ALF & never did figure out where the box came from.

It's also listed on spaamfaa.org's advertisement page, along with a lot of other antique rigs, for good prices too.

I was on a trip to St. Louis in August, and we stopped in Lexington just off the highway to eat.  We went past one of their fire stations that literally looked like a house with a 2 wide/2 deep engine room attached, one bay had a late model Pierce Dash or 2005-2010 Arrow XT, the other had either a medium duty rescue or an ambulance.  I wasn't aware of how large Lexington was at the time.  Does anyone know which station I'm talking about? And have photos of the rigs if their not already up?
