Hey guys! Had a fella bring to me an older regency Scanner. Seems somebody knocked out the programmed channels.
hoping someone can give me some info on how to preprogram it again. It does scan but locks on nothing. Although it will play the weqther channel real nice.
It is a regency Info 50 Informer. I think it is a 10-15 channel scanner. This is not a hand held. Thnx Ron

Man, that's one of the few scanners I haven't owned.
Does it look like the attached photos? If so, that is a Regency INF50 Informant. The same radio was branded for Uniden and designated the Bearcat INF5XL.
There are manuals for the INF5XL on Ebay going for about $3 (
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Uniden-Bearcat-INF-5XL-Scanner-Operating-User-Manual-/360117802203
).
As far as programming that type of radio, all of the frequencies for the state are preprogrammed. Usually you just hit the 'State' button until OH shows up on the display, then you hit the fire/police/medical button for what you want to listen to. I'll keep looking around to see if I can find an online manual.
Anyone else have one of these that can help?

Yep! that's exactly the one I have. Hope i can find a manual.
I got the 'Ohio' to come up but it's not picking up anything. Might be that the antenna is too short. It's just a 12" cable out the back of the scanner. Thnx Ron

Try a metal coat hanger. It tends to work better than a wire antenna.
