Hello I found this site a few days ago and started looking a pictures of trucks. The pictures here are wonderful and very informative. I am now a new member to the site and wanted to say hi to all. I am also a member of the Bare Cove Fire Museum in Hingham, MA, and we have several old Hingham Fire Department Pieces.
The first truck we have is a 1922 Maxim City Service Ladder Truck, former Ladder 1
The next truck we have is a 1924 Maxim Pumper, former Engine 4
The third truck we have is a 1935 Ahrens Fox NT4 1000GPM Pumper 1 of 9 Built, former Engine 2.
We are currently working on the restoration of Engine 3 a 1938 Dodge Maxim Pumper .
We also have a few more peices waiting for restoration at some point.
The website is
http://www.barecovefiremuseum.org/
I also left a reply in the Chicago Fire Department Forum Under Apparatus by Fire Department about three Ladder trucks i found online, and am nt sure if they are former Chicago FD or not.

Hi!
Welcome to the Youngstown Forums. I'm sure that all of the members here are looking forward to your input and photos. Have a look at the Fire Museum Forum. I just checked and there isn't a topic for the Bare Cove museum. Please start one. Some information and photos of the exhibits would be most welcomed (I noticed that there are many wonderful photos of the exhibits on the Museum's web site, but it would be nice to see a few here).
Take care,
Steve

Hi Shermanator,
Welcome to our Forums! I was just checking out your fire museum's website and there are some nice pieces preserved. I look forward to seeing more of the collection and I love the Firewood derby idea
This link will take you directly into the fire museum part of this forum.

Hi yfdgricker
The whole idea about the firewood derby is that the members of the museum got sick of seeing the parents building the pinewood derby cars for cub scouts. The firewood derby is an all ages event and the rules are expanded a little. Anything built for the firewood derby has to be related to fire in some way. The trucks can be up to 10 inches long and up to 8 ounces in weight. Some of the trucks that were built in past years had working sirens and lights.
At our next meeting I will try to find out when the next firewood derby will be. and I will try to get some good pictures for this forum.
