Steel street fire causes $3,500 damage

YOUNGSTOWN — City firefighters are investigating an early morning fire Sunday at a vacant house on Steel Street.

According to reports, the fire started in the kitchen area of the two-story, wood-framed structure at 710 Steel St. on the city’s West Side at 2:15 a.m. Damages were estimated to be $3,500. There were no injuries.
