Youngstown Fireman Shares Good Fortune With Kids
Story from the WFMJ TV21 Web Site on 12/22/2007.
A veteran Youngstown firefighter is not only giving his "service" to the community, but some of his birthday gifts. Youngstown Fire Lieutenant Marty Lipinsky surprised 60-children at Millcreek Children's Center today by giving each one of them a toy "fire truck" for Christmas. Lipinsky recently celebrated his 60th birthday, and instead of gifts for himself, he requested that friends and family buy him toy fire trucks that could be donated to the local children.
Lipinsky said, "I HAD A LOT OF GOOD THINGS FROM UNITED WAY AND JOANN. I WON A 2-YEAR LEASE ON A COBALT FROM SWEENEY CHEVROLET AND I THOUGHT I'D SHARE MY BIRTHDAY GIFTS WITH THE UNITED WAY AND SISTER JEROME'S KIDS."
The children showed their appreciation to Lipinsky and his family by repeatedly saying "thank you" in unison.

Spreading Cheer
Story from the WYTV Channel 33 Web Site on 12/23/2007.
Spreading Cheer Lieutenant Marty Lipinsky donated fire truck toys to students at the Millcreek Children's Center in Youngstown.
The preschool is sponsored by the United Way, an organization Lipinsky says has treated him well over the years.
So he decided to give back and he got all the toys donated in a special way. " I had a birthday party this summer...It was a milestone birthday and rather than get over the hill gifts. I asked all my friends and family to bring an unwrapped fire truck toy."
Lieutenant Lipinsky donated sixty trucks to the three and four year old students.
