The Holtville/Slapout Fire & Rescue is a 100% volunteer deptartment in Elmore county. We are just north of Montgomery on Lake Jordan. Our District is approx 30sq miles. We are responsible for approx 15 miles of river and lakes. The departments ISO rating is a class 6 with drop tank water shuttle. We have 2 Engines, 2 Tankers, 1 fast rescue, 1 service truck, 1 brush truck and 1 rescue boat. Our Fire Department web address is :www.holtvilleslapoutfd.org

I believe the story goes that there was a small country store in that location and just about every time someone ask for an item the owner would say that he was "slapout" of it. And the name stuck!
