Don't tell me I have too many scanners :)
« on: January 18, 2006, 12:12:35 AM »
Found this pic on RadioReference.com.

Description:
Left to right on the 1st quad, Bearcat 235 & 3 Bearcat 245's. Left to right on the second quad, Bearcat 250D, Bearcat 296D, SportCat 200 and BCD396T. Will have to finnish up by running antenna lines and splitters to each quad for external anttens soon too.

Way cool!

Holy crap.,
That is a serious radio set up lol. My collection is:

 Radio Shack pro-2032 200 channel
Uniden Bearcat 300 Channel Trunk Tracker
 Motorola STX hand held walkie
Uniden Bearcat 30 Channel Hand held.
I think I have CFD and the county covered pretty well. Not as well as the picture above, but I'm working on it.  :)

Hey All,
Well I just ordered my BC72XLT yesterday, to replace 2 other scanners that no longer work.  So that leaves me with these scanners::
 BC72XLT...soon
 BC245XLT Trunk Tracker handheld
PRO 2032 200 Channel base scanner
 Motorola STX walkie.
Plectron alert base unit. 154.250 Freq.
 That's it for now

I haven't posted in awhile, guess I'll chime in.

At home I use a 100 channel Pro-2040 as my base station, and a Pro-91 handheld for portable or mobile use. If I need trunktracking for San Francisco while at home, I just fire up the Pro-91 since the 2040 does not do trunking. Most of the frequencies out here are still VHF or UHF, with a few exceptions that I don't care to monitor.

I also have two Motorola HT-1000 handhelds, both 16 channels, a VHF one and a UHF one that I also sometimes use as scanners. They're a lot more sensitive then regular scanners it seems.

Pgoogs, don't forget the 10R you got from me :) Amateur radios count as well :)

I listen to 2 at a time on a regular basis. Just depends on where I am. At home, it's the dedicated Youngstown Fire Feed and sometimes the live Mahoning Co feed on the computer.

In the car, its the 396D handheld and the 2051.

At work, it is the live Mahoning Co feed and sometimes my 396D. Everywhere else, it's the 396D.

If I'm doing amateur radio like skywarn or something, then the FT8100 gets activated if I'm mobile or the Kenwood if I'm at home.

In an emergency, everything goes :)
