Updated Posting Policy

It has come to my attention that inappropriate posts bashing a specific person have found their way onto this forum. This is in violation of the terms of this message board and are NOT welcome here. I would like to state for the record that the views of any poster in these forums are not those of the youngstownfire.com webmaster or the Youngstown Fire Department in general. I would like to personally apologize to Mr. Bishop for any trouble the offending posts may have caused to him or to his business. As a result, all of the inappropriate posts have been removed and the original poster banned from the forums. Any future posts bashing one person or another will be quickly reviewed by the youngstownfire.com forum administrators and appropriate action such as deleting the post and banning the user will be taken. Members, please take a moment to to read the latest posting policy in the youngstownfire.com frequently asked questions section. Thank you.

youngstownfire.com Forum: follow up

These forums are privately owned and run. We do not allow guests to post. You must be a registered user to post. We also expect you to use a real email address. The webmaster reserves the right to remove / move messages at any time. In posting a message you are agreeing to the rules laid out below. If you do not agree to the rules, do not post.
 

Posting rules

The forums are not actively moderated, however we do passively moderate (delete messages if the rules are broken). We have a very simple (and liberal) set of rules which we expect every poster to follow. The webmaster reserves the right to remove your right to post (permanently) should you repeatedly abuse these simple rules. This is a free service, don't ruin it for everyone else. All IP addresses are recorded.

Have a complaint about a particular poster? Let us know, don't do it on the forums.

Please note that this is quickly becoming one of the busiest fire related forums on the Internet, we have little time to debate a ban, if you break a rule you will be banned, no arguments.

** Make sure your posts are relative - Any post not dealing with the fire service or related topic covered here on the forums will be removed. SPAM advertising will not be tolerated here. You will be banned and have all of your offending messages removed.

** Be civil - anyone being abusive, calling names or generally trying to stir up trouble will not be tolerated. If you think someone is wrong it may be because they are new, don't jump on them, think first. If you are repeatedly abusive you will be banned from these forums.

** New posters - Before you ask a question please check to see if someone else has asked it before, ask our search engine first.

** Site questions / comments - Please check our Site FAQ first, you may have a question which has already been answered. If not, feel free to post site questions in the Questions, Problems, Etc. forum.

** Question for the webmaster - If you post "Question for Greg (yfdgricker)" or "Greg,..." messages and I don't respond, don't take it personally. It probably means I didn't see the post. I sometimes check out the posts that interest me and let others go. Drop me a Private Message as well and let me know which post the question is in.

** For Sale - We welcome any For Sale/Wanted posts in the appropriate forum! Any For Sale/Wanted post submitted to any other forum will be moved.

** SPAM - Please do not post your message to more than one forum. You may post a short message letting people go to the original post themselves though.

** Flame / Attacks - We do not tolerate abusive, malicious, personal attacks or self-promoting messages. See first rule.

** Trolls - Anyone deliberately antagonizing other forum users by posting 'flame bait' type messages are not welcome. See first rule.

** Bashing - Deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand, product or company will get you banned. If you have a complaint or comment to make then make it once and make sure you have facts to support it. See first rule.

** Bumping - Deliberately 'bumping' your message back to the top of the forum with no new content is acceptable when used in moderation. Often the admins will bump a topic to try and get more discussion going.
 
** Posting pictures - Please be kind and resize your photos before posting. The size limit for this forum is 200KB but a file size of 50-75KB is appreciated.  Also, please give credit where credit is due. If you post a photo from somewhere, please include the photographer's name and/or site URL it came from. Any photographer wishing to have their photo removed may contact the webmaster and it will be done immediately. If a photo you have taken is used on this forum without appropriate credit, contact the webmaster and I will add the credit to the photo and a link to the site of your choosing if desired.

** Glamour / Nude / Bikini pictures - Please do not embed such images in your messages, while we understand that such pictures (tastefully shot) are a big part of fire photography we do have a worldwide audience... uh huh, sorry just checking to see if you are still reading this.

** Harassment - If we receive complaints about users harassing other users either by forum message, email or by other methods you will be banned immediately. If serious enough we will also contact your ISP and report the matter.

** Software piracy - We do not allow the posting of serial numbers, cracks, warez links or anything related to the piracy of software.

** Legal ownership - Each message posted is owned by and the opinion of the original poster. Neither youngstownfire.com nor its owner/webmaster are legally responsible for anything posted on these forums.

** Language - Offensive language will NOT be tolerated. This message board is equipped with a curse filter that works pretty well.
