Resizing Images
Resizing an image while retaining its quality is one of the most complicated tasks facing digital artists. Paint Shop Pro makes resizing images a quick and painless process.
Here we'll go through some easy ways to resize your images for both Web and print.
Regardless of what method you use to resize your images, you'll need to follow these two steps:
* Open the image you'd like to resize.
* On the menu bar at the top of Paint Shop Pro choose Image > Resize
(or Shift + S).
The Resize dialog box will open up and we can choose the method we want to use for resizing our image.
Web Images
When resizing images for use on the Web, we'll be using both Pixel size and Percentage of original to resize our images.
Before you begin you'll want to make sure:
* Resize type is set at Smart Size
* Resize all layers is checked and
* Maintain aspect ratio of: is checked
Marking the radio button under Pixel size will allow you to adjust the height and width of your image in pixels.
Now, type in the width or height you want for your resized image.
Since we made sure to check Maintain aspect ratio, Paint Shop Pro will automatically adjust the other dimension so the resized image retains the same ratio of width to height as the original.
When you've resized the image to the pixel width and height you want, click OK and the image will be resized.
If you choose Percentage of original you increase or decrease the image size by a percentage.
To decrease the image to half the size of the original, type in 50 percent. To double the size of the original, type in 200.
When you're done choosing the size you want, click OK and the image will be resized.
Print Images
Choosing Actual/ print size will allow you to alter both the image's resolution and the height and/or width of the resized image.
Resolution Resize
* Altering the resolution only will not change the number of pixels making up the image
* It will adjust how many pixels will print out in a given inch or centimeter - making it either more dense per inch (higher resolution) or more sparse (lower resolution)
* Changing the number in the Resolution box will automatically change the Height and Width of the image - the larger the number in the Resolution box, the smaller the image will get
* When you've found the resolution and print size you want, click OK and your image will be resized.
Height/Width Resize
Want to print an image but it's too small? The Height and Width resize is the best way to resize images that are too small for print. However, it cannot perform miracles. If you have a small, low quality image and you want to make it larger, the result will be a larger image with even worse quality.
For this reason, it is recommended that whenever possible, you rescan the image at a larger resolution. If rescanning is not possible, you'll want to use Height and Width Resizing. However, you should try not to make the image any more than 20% larger than its current size or quality will noticeably deteriorate.
* Set the Resolution to a reasonable amount. For most home users we recommend 200 PPI.
* Set the Width to the size you would like. The height will change automatically to be proportionate.
* When you've typed in the print size you want, click OK and your image will be resized.
Paint Shop Pro makes the complicated process of resizing images quick and painless. Now you can get your images ready for Web or print in no time at all!

Here is how I did it using regular paint
To do this, I opened each individual picture inn Paint. From there, I went to the Stretch/Skew window that is under the "Image" menu on the title bar. To resize them, I put in 75 in the horizontal and verticle resize percentage boxes. This brought all of them down to under 50k, except one. For that one I just resized it again using 95% and it did the trick.
