County-wide numbering system
« on: January 26, 2002, 06:56:44 PM »
I was wondering if either Mahoning or Trumbull counties had a county-wide numbering system for trucks and stations. I am trying to compile a list of station numbers. I know some, but not all. If you can help, please post.

examples:
- Youngstown #1, 2, 3, 6, 7 9, 12, 15
- Liberty Twp. #34 and #35
- Vienna Twp. #46
- Boardman Twp. #71, 72,73, 74 (Although I think Greg may have said that one of them is closed. I know 71 and 74 are open.)

If this is in reference to an email from Ignacius, I just sent him the following emails...

Email 1:
There is *sort of* a county wide numbering scheme being used by a handful of departments in Mahoning County. Offhand I know that Boardman is 70's and Poland is 90's. Lowellville is some number but they have so few calls a year that I can't remember what number they use. Campbell I think also has a numeric designator. I know that Youngstown, Austintown and Canfield do NOT use the county numbering scheme. There may come a time down the road when everyone will but right now it's just a few select communities that have changed over.

Email 2:
Austintown has 4 stations:
Station 1 (Headquarters) is on State Route 46.
Station 2 is at Wickliffe Circle and Mahoning Ave.
Station 3 is on Raccoon Road.
Station 4 is on Turner Road at New Road.

Boardman has 3 stations:
Station 71 (Headquarters) is at State Route 224 and California Ave.
Station 73 is at Shields and Lockwood Rd.
Station 74 is on South Ave.
They use to have a station 2 on Market Street before Indianola but it closed in the late 80's. There is talk of building a new station 72 near the Government Center on Market near McClure Rd.

Poland has 3 stations:
http://www.polandfire.org/
Station 91 (Headquarters) is at Rt 224 and Rt 170
Station 92 is at Rt 170 near Dobbins
Station 93 is on New Castle Rd.

Additional: I have the list of Trumbull County Fire Numberings and I will post that later. Right now it's bed time!

Just because you have a paramedic card, doesn't mean you know how to fight fire.  It takes more than rubber gloves.
