1. A 1945 Seagrave 750/100, 5 man canopy-cab was purchased for No. 3 Station.  It was manufactured during WWII, therefore had NO chrome, bell or hood ornimate.
2. It is shown here in 1949 at (old) No. 3 Station, with the 1927 Suburbanite (reserve) just prior to closing.

1932 Seagrave
Squad & Lights
#70051

A custom chassis rig of this type is highly unusual.  The Seagrave paint shop records refer to this piece as "Squad + Light". Does anyone know if this apparatus was operated as a squad or was it just a light wagon?
Placed in service June of 1932. It was listed as Light and Salvage Wagon. Reportedly it was painted white so firemen could easily tell it apart from the Hose Wagons. It ran with 4 men on each of the 2 Platoons in 1936. No indication if any wrere officers. It carried a 2KW Genset, (11) 100W to 500W floodlights, electric cable, electric saws, drills and hammers, oxygen helmets, (proabaly McCaa half hour model Rebreather SCBA's), rescue and first aid equipment and a water powred smoke ejector. Do you have any photos of the Seagrave Custom Chassis Wrecker ordered at the same time?

What do you mean "biblical"?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcanos! The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Here's a pic of a Seagrave in a field in Standish,MI. The owner said it's an ex-Detroit rig and still runs.
