I have a few questions that Steve could probably best answer regarding how the serial numbers were assigned to Boardman apparatus. The two in question are the trucks of McGregor & Rogers, TX. I noticed that the McGregor truck, (1977/F2225) is 2 years newer than the Rogers truck, (1975/F2266) yet the latter has a higher number of the two.  When I photographed the Rogers truck, I was told that the truck was delivered painted yellow then was later repainted red when the department changed apparatus color. Were sequential numbers used as each truck came out of the factory or could they possibly indicate an area/region to which the trucks were delivered?  If Boardman repainted the Rogers truck or made some significant changes after 1977 would a new number have been assigned to the truck at that time? Thanks in advance for any answers that can be provided.

The McGregor truck , a 1976 model, has job #F-2225.  The Rogers truck, a 1977 model - originally lime green - has #F-2266.  They are one model year and 41 job numbers apart.

Here's a shot of the Rogers truck at Emergency Equipment Services in Oklahoma City, just prior to repainting in 1999:

Thanks for clarifying Steve.  I'll make the corrections to my postings.

Oops - forgot to answer these questions:  All job numbers were sequential.  New numbers were not assigned after a refurb or rebuild.

Being "born" lime green is one thing; being painted that color later in life is a shame.

Looks like a Mack Model C next to it.

Did you get a photo of the Mack?

I have a photo of the Mack behind the Boardman.  I think I posted it on the Mack C thread.
